We are looking for a  versatile software developer to contribute to designing and delivering the data management and analysis software infrastructure for Brill Power’s connected batteries. You will join a small and dynamic team in a permanent, full time role and report directly to our Chief Data Scientist.



You will join Brill Power as a software  developer and contribute to the software architecture design, implementation and deployment of our battery data management and analytics platform. You will work closely with our Chief Data Scientist, and in collaboration with our firmware and electronics team, to build-up the Cloud-based infrastructure to deliver advanced battery data insights and monitoring solutions to our customers.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Software development and testing of Brill Power’s Cloud-based battery data management and analysis platform

  • Assist with the day-to-day coordination of contract software developers

  • Create and maintain technical specifications and operational documentation

  • Assist with the deployment and maintenance of operational Cloud services

  • Support and enhance existing software according to evolving commercial and project requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years work experience, or graduate degree equivalent (we would love to see your GitHub portfolio)

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, science, or engineering (or equivalent)

  • Fast-leaner and eager to quickly adapt and pick up new technologies and skills

  • Strong skills in objected oriented programming (e.g. Python, C++) and the use of associated frameworks and libraries

  • Ability to assess and implement algorithms with an awareness of algorithmic complexity

  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure and services (e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS…)

  • Experience in designing, managing and querying relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g. SQL, Postgres)

  • Hands-on experience and proficiency with code version control (Git)

  • Experience with containerized deployment (e.g. Docker)

  • Familiarity with and willingness to adopt modern software development and deployment practices such as TDD and Ci/Cd

  • Experience with IoT technologies and communication protocols

  • Software development experience relevant to data analytics or big data
